Alexander Funk, PhD

Sr. Research Associate

Personal Statment

Dr. Funk is a trained chemist, but his research focus has always been nuclear magnetic resonance. His PhD focused on developement and analysis of paramagnetic lanthanide agents. Since he joined UT Southwestern his reseach interest shifted more towards magnetic resonance imaging: paraCEST, 13C- and 15N-metabolic imaging, but also kinetic isotope effects of 13C and 2H tracer molecules.
Dr. Funk is the NMR facilities manager and is the main point of contact for facilities and equipment.
