Personal Statment
Dr. Deja is trained in NMR based metabolomics. Since he joined UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dr. Deja focused on utilization of stable isotope tracers to study liver metabolism. In particular, he actively applies and develops new approaches that take advantage of simultaneous use of multiple stable isotope tracers (e.g. 2H and 13C isotopes) and combination of NMR and MS isotopomer data analysis. Using these techniques, Dr. Deja research target mechanisms of metabolic control involved in regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism in the liver.
